Frequently asked questions.

1. What does the treatment feel like?

The treatment is very comfortable. It’s painless and non-invasive. During the first and last few minutes (pressurization and depressurization), you might feel a little pressure in your ears, similar to what you experience during an airplane take-off or landing. Our technician will teach you easy techniques like the Valsalva maneuver and jaw thrust to help equalize the pressure and make you more comfortable during these brief moments.

2. How many visits to the clinic will I need to complete my treatment?

The number of visits you’ll need depends on your specific condition. For example, an anti-aging protocol may only require a few visits a week. More complex issues like brain trauma or certain bacterial infections will need more frequent sessions. We follow established national hyperbaric medical protocols.

3. How long does each session last?

Each session typically lasts 1 to 2 hours. The actual treatment time, where you breathe oxygen, is between 45-90 minutes, depending on your condition. Your specific treatment duration is based on your health needs and protocol.

4. What do I do while in the chamber?

You can recline in our chamber. During your session, you’re free to read a book, or a tablet, meditate, or even take a nap. It’s a perfect time to unwind and relax.

5. I am claustrophobic. Will I have problems being in the chamber?

No need to worry! Our staff are experts at helping patients with claustrophobia. We have the largest single occupancy chambers in Northern California, giving you plenty of space to feel comfortable. You maintain control over your treatment, and our spacious chambers help alleviate any anxiety. Many patients think, "I was nervous at first, but now I enter, wait, and then exit without a problem"

6. Are there any side effects associated with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

HBOT is an all-natural therapy with generally no or only temporary side effects. On rare occasions, you might experience mild ear irritation, temporary vision changes, dizziness, or lightheadedness. Our thorough safety protocols, patient screening process, and continuous monitoring minimize most risks, allowing you to relax and enjoy safe and effective treatments.
