Frequently asked questions.

1. What does the treatment feel like?

The treatment is very comfortable. It’s painless and non-invasive. During the first and last phases (pressurization and depressurization), you might feel a little pressure in your ears, similar to what you experience during an airplane take-off or landing. Our technician will teach you easy techniques like the Valsalva maneuver and jaw thrust to help equalize the pressure and make you more comfortable during these brief moments.

2. How many visits to the clinic will I need to complete my treatment?

The number of visits you’ll need depends on your specific condition. We follow established national hyperbaric medical protocols.

3. How long does each session last?

Each session typically lasts approximately 90 minutes. Your specific treatment duration is based on your health needs and protocol.

4. What do I do while in the chamber?

During your session, you’re free to read a book, or a tablet, be on your phone, meditate, or even take a nap. It’s a perfect time to unwind and relax.

5. I am claustrophobic. Will I have problems being in the chamber?

No need to worry! Our staff will help you mentally prepare for the session so you can feel calm and relaxed throughout. Many patients think, "I was nervous at first, but now the chamber is my quiet comfort zone.”

6. Are there any side effects associated with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

HBOT is an all-natural therapy with generally no or only temporary side effects. On rare occasions, you might experience mild ear irritation, dizziness, or lightheadedness. Our thorough safety protocols and continuous monitoring minimize those risks, allowing you to relax and enjoy safe and effective treatments.

7. What should I wear to my session?

Whatever you're comfortable in. Unlike most HBOT facilities, our chamber uses oxygen concentrators, not pure oxygen tanks, which means there's zero combustion risk. You can wear your regular clothes, keep your makeup on, and even bring your phone inside the chamber. No gowns, no scrubs, no medical prep.

8. Do you use 100% oxygen?

We conduct business in a radically honest and transparent manner, so here's the full picture: we do not use 100% oxygen, and that's by design. Instead, we use oxygen concentrators that deliver 95–99% purity, which is both just as effective and significantly safer, eliminating fire hazards entirely. This same oxygenation method is widely used in biohacking and recovery circles, including by public figures like Bryan Johnson and professional athletes such as Novak Djokovic. You get the healing benefits of concentrated oxygen without the unnecessary risks that come with pure oxygen tanks.

9. Is your chamber medical-grade?

In practical terms, yes. The term "medical grade" refers to equipment with FDA-approved components, and every part of our system meets that standard except one: we use 95–99% oxygen concentrators instead of 100% oxygen tanks. That's a deliberate safety choice, not a limitation. It eliminates fire hazards entirely while preserving the therapeutic effectiveness of the treatment. Everything else the hard-shell construction, the 2.0 ATA pressurization, the medical-grade air break system, the non-rebreather oxygen masks is clinic-grade or above. Most HBOT facilities in New York rely on nasal cannulas, standard masks, or ineffective air breaks. Ours delivers more oxygen, more safely, with more flexibility than nearly any setup in the city.

10. What's the difference between a hard chamber and a soft chamber?

This is one of the most important questions to ask when choosing an HBOT provider. Soft chambers, the inflatable kind you may have seen online, max out at about 1.3 ATA, which is not enough pressure to treat most conditions effectively. Our hard-shell chamber reaches 2.0 ATA, which is where the real science lives. The difference in pressure translates directly into how deeply oxygen can penetrate your tissues, how effectively inflammation is reduced, and how much healing your body can actually achieve. If you find lower prices elsewhere in the city, they're likely offering soft chamber treatments, not the hard chamber therapy we provide.

11. How much does HBOT cost?

Your first session is $300 and serves as both a treatment and an opportunity to experience the chamber firsthand. Once you decide to commit to a package, that $300 is refunded in full. We offer several package options depending on your condition and goals, whether you're managing autoimmune symptoms, recovering from a brain injury, or working toward long-term wellness. Call or text us at (212) 355-0810 or book a free consultation and we'll walk you through the pricing in detail.

12. Does insurance cover HBOT?

In most cases, insurance does not cover HBOT for the types of conditions we specialize in, such as Long COVID, TBI recovery, chronic fatigue, or anti-aging. Insurance coverage is generally limited to a narrow set of FDA-approved indications like diabetic wounds and radiation injury. That said, we keep our pricing accessible specifically because we know most of our clients are paying out of pocket. Clients have also had success using HSA or FSA funds - we recommend checking with your provider.

13. Who should NOT do HBOT?

The only absolute contraindication is an untreated pneumothorax (collapsed lung). Beyond that, we evaluate each person individually during the free consultation. Conditions that require extra caution include severe COPD or asthma, recent ear or chest surgery, uncontrolled high fever, certain chemotherapy medications, and pregnancy. If any of these apply to you, let us know during your consultation and we'll determine the best path forward together.

14. How quickly will I notice results?

This depends on your condition and how your body responds. Some clients feel more energy or mental clarity after just a few sessions. Others, especially those managing chronic conditions like Long COVID, Lyme disease, or neurological issues, begin noticing meaningful changes after several weeks of consistent treatment. HBOT is not a one-and-done therapy. It works cumulatively, session by session, as your body repairs, reduces inflammation, and builds new blood vessels to areas that need healing.

15. How many sessions per week do I need?

Whether you're boosting overall health, managing autoimmune symptoms, recovering from radiation, or looking to live longer - HBOT dosage is measured in frequency per week, on a month-to-month basis. Most protocols call for 2 to 5 sessions per week depending on the condition. During your free consultation, we'll build a personalized plan that fits your schedule and your body's needs.

16. Can I eat before my session?

Yes, we recommend a light, nutritious meal about 1 to 2 hours before your session. If you prefer to come fasted, that can actually increase stem cell mobilization during treatment. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and carbonated drinks before your session for the best results.

17. Is HBOT safe?

HBOT is considered one of the safest therapeutic procedures available. The most common side effect is mild ear pressure during the first few minutes, similar to what you feel on an airplane, and we teach you simple techniques to manage it before your first session. Because we use oxygen concentrators instead of pure oxygen tanks, there is zero fire risk in our chamber, making it significantly safer than many traditional HBOT setups.
